ABOUT THE JOB:
As part of a dynamic and growing Middle Office team, you will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing the full post-trade lifecycle of listed derivatives. Acting as a central point of contact between Front Office, Clients, Clearing Brokers, and internal stakeholders, you will contribute both operational expertise and strategic insight to ensure seamless execution and risk control.
In this senior role, you will also help drive continuous process improvements and support the onboarding and mentoring of more junior team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Onboarding & Documentation
- Coordinate complex onboarding processes in collaboration with Compliance, Legal, and Front Office teams.
- Oversee the proper execution and lifecycle of documentation (FIA Tech, give-up agreements, account setups, etc.).
Trade Lifecycle Management
- Supervise and ensure the accurate and timely capture, affirmation, and clearing of listed derivatives trades.
- Proactively follow up with clients and clearing brokers to resolve breaks and unmatched trades.
Reconciliations & Controls
- Lead the daily reconciliation process between internal systems and external platforms (clearinghouses, exchanges).
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies with a focus on accuracy, traceability, and control.
Collateral & Margin Management
- Monitor margin calls, collateral movements, and funding requirements in coordination with Treasury and Risk teams.
- Anticipate collateral needs and contribute to strategic collateral optimization.
Operational Risk & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure strict adherence to internal policies and external regulations (EMIR, MiFID II, CFTC, exchange-specific rules).
- Identify operational risks and contribute to the implementation of mitigating controls.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior liaison point for escalations and complex trade-related issues involving clients, brokers, and internal teams (Front Office, Risk, IT).
- Participate in client reviews and support business development from an operational perspective.
Reporting & Process Enhancement
- Produce high-quality operational reporting (daily, monthly, ad hoc) on trade activity, breaks, and risk exposure.
- Lead or support initiatives to improve process efficiency, automation, and control frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 5+ years of experience in a Middle or Back Office function, ideally with exposure to listed derivatives and clearing workflows.
- Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle, clearing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks for listed derivatives.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues autonomously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of tools like Fidessa, TEO, LISA is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English (written & spoken); French is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
- Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset; able to support and mentor junior colleagues.
